Not to toot my own horn...

Hello, out there!

I am copying and pasting a "blog" from a guest blogger, my daughter Erin.  Her writing assignment for school was to write about the person she most admired.  To my surprise, the subject was dear old Mom.  I have left it as is, some of it is a bit embellished.  I don't always have a book in my hand, although I wish I could read more!  What a compliment as a parent to have your child write about you (in a positive light!).

Here it is:  Couldn't paste it into the blog, so it's a comment!

Who I admirer October 20, 2008

By: Erin Blecha 65

The person I admire for some people that would be a hard question to answer, but for me it is simple. The person I admire is my mom. She as been with me from the day that I was born to right this day, and she will be with me for many years to come.

I love my mom for many reasons. First of all she has to take care of 3 kids, 1 under a year old. She is always bringing us places with me swimming, taking Leo to his mom, and taking Lizzie to her swim class. If there was anything close to supper woman that is her. I never forget that she was the one that brought me into this world; actually she will never let me forget it. For over 11 she has been taking care of me. At the age of two my parents got divorced. Being a single mom must have been hard. She not only had to take care of me she had to do it on her own. Right after I turned 10 my mom got remarried. I know it was the guy of her dreams as they always care for on another. The hardest out of the 3 kids has to be Lizzie. Lizzie is only 11 months old she is always crying for mommy and staying awake for all hours. Lizzie is the baby and is always getting herself in trouble. Like eating paper and anything that is on the ground. I can never forget the time Lizzie was choking and my mom knew exactly what to do she made sure she was ok. My mom care for me because of the reasons I said.

Mary Alice Mcfeeley a.k.a mom was born on March 4,1968 in St. Rafael’s in New Haven to Mary Mcfeeley and Tom Mcfeeley. My mom is the oldest of 3 children her, Tom, and Sean. She went to Immaculate High School and went to 2 different colleges for 8 years. Since her parents were scarce on money Mary paid her way through to college and started working at age 16 as a nurse assistant. In collage she was studying nursing and became a R.N because she really cared about people. My Mom and Dad got married in the year 1994. In the year 2000 on November 20 my parent got a broke up. In September of 2007 must have been one of the happiest days in my mom’s life. She got remarried as I said before. On November 27, 2007 my little sister Elizabeth was born. Most of us call her Lizzie for short. My mom’s favorite show is Biggest Loser after last season she proposed that her new favorite hero has to be Ali Vincent who was last year winner. My mom is an amazing person. My mom’s job is to help bring people in the world. Sometimes nurse prevent I life from leaving this world my mom help them come in.

There are more than one actively that my mom likes to do. She can always be found with a book in her hand. She always tells me her favorite book is “Gone with The Wind”. My entire family has a passion for the Durham Fair we think it is a family tradition to enter the wining recipes from the year before and create new recipes to pass on. My mom says “I is imposable for our family to go to the fair and not make at lest 1 Bach of cookies.” My mom loves to cook she is always making homemade bread and cookies. My mom’s bisness of Tastefully simple is truly amazing they have the best chocolate Pound cake. One of my moms and me favorite things to do is swim. My mom says it helps her back because she pulled her back last month. The reason I like swimming is because I am good at it and I love competing agenst other people. When you think of volunteers you think of people working in food pantry and the Red Cross. But I consisted my mom a volunteer she care for people not only that she knows but even some she does not. I can remember how my mom always takes care of anyone. Whenever we go out to Long Island to see my Great Grandma my mom always took great care of her and made sure that she was always in good health. I think it is amazing that any one could have that much care in every thing she does.

From, Her smile to her laugh my mom is my best friend and my greatest ally. Mom is everything to me the reason I am here to who I am today. If there is any thing close to Super woman that is she. I am sure of that.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I've always told people that you are the strongest woman I know -- sounds like Erin has noticed the same thing.

I love you both very much
